No really, it does have paint!

Ever wonder if the coloring on an F1 car is just a vinyl wrap, or stickers even? Well even though last years trend had been to show more carbon fiber than actual color, the colors that are there (aside from the sponsor logos) really is paint. And yes it really does add weight to the car, so the less weight the better. Mercedes like other teams put out some great videos from time to time about the process of designing and building a car, and the engineering and science behind all of what we see screaming around the track on race weekends.
