Sergio, Sergio, Where forth art thou?

I don't even think he knows these days. The pressure of being Max's teammate has gotten to him in full force this season. Am I surprised Red Bull came out this week and announced they are sticking with him for the rest of the season? No. The races coming up typically are better tracks for Sergio, so if he can get his mental focus sharpened up over the break, he could help bring in a haul of points to keep Red Bull ahead of McLaren.
And that's the thing, and the detriment to every driver who has been paired with Max. The minute they get 'comfortable' with the car, start seeing some success, some podiums, the allure and lofty goal of beating Max and being the number 1 at Red Bull fogs their vision. Until Max shows a lack of interest, or effort, and isn't charged up to be on the top step, it's his team (whether he's an asshole or not). Your best bet is to be the ultimate wingman. Drive for number 2, gather trophies, an occasional win here and there when Max hits a snag, and keep your head down, and your nose clean. Build up that resume and cabinet of hardware, cause it certainly looks good when you start looking elsewhere.
Will he be there for 2025? Unless he shows a turn around for the second half, no. Liam Lawson is waiting in the wings and ready to go. What about Ricciardo? This is his last stint unfortunately in F1. I'll be shocked if RB Racing brings him back for 2025. So odds are Liam is suiting up next season. Better make the 2nd half your best one Sergio, there won't be any available seats come the end of the season!
